Hello? Does anyone have a 'Bible in a year' reading regimen?

Recommended Posts

Do any of you see that you read through the entire Bible in a year? I don't. If you do, is there a certain kind of regimen or way that you do it? I want to know. Does anyone just have a Bible reading regimen that they'd like to share? I really would benefit from knowing.

Do you make sure that you read a certain number of verses, chapters or pages in a day? Or in a week or a month, etc?

Other than going through once, I've always done more subject (doctrine) based studies, or word studies; I just find it easier to focus and remember if I'm studying rather than just reading; although I try to read at least 2 pages a day going through it again Genesis -> Revelation.

If you want to make a plan perhaps these charts of contents can help you balance things out:

So if there is 929 OT chapters + 260 NT,
to balance you would want to read
~3 OT (2.54) & ~1 NT (0.71) /day.

I've seen some fancy reading plans that will jump you all over the place tying things together,
e.g. Jumping from an OT prophecy about Jesus Christ to where it was fulfilled in the NT, stuff like that.

Thanks. I am trying to read 5 pages a day of plain chronological reading from Genesis to Revelation, as prescribed by Dr. Ruckman, but I also read besides that whatever else I feel like reading. But I'm gonna try to get through the entire Bible in one year. No promises, but I'm gonna try.

I start my day. by reading minimum 3chapters. I may read 10. I always finish from genesis to revelation. Straight through. One I finish. I start right back again like if genesis is after revelation. You can't go wrong this way.

Through out the day, I respond to certain people questions they've asked causing m to read different books, chapters, and verses.

I refuse to start my day without reading first. Anytime I don't which has been less than all my fingers over 4 years I have a bad day or struggle to read...i can't explain it. I've been saved for over 7 and would read before daily randomly or based on studies,  but it changed once I decided to start from the beginning and go straight through.

I need to read every day, it's the only thing that truly comforts me: therefore nothing will ever stop me from reading my Bible, only our FATHER.

Hope this helps.
