Hi all, first and foremost, praise God through Jesus Christ for all His wondrous works!!

So on the subject of being patient with others including family members, when do you think it's time to say enough is enough? i.e, stop praying for their salvation etc. I understand that we don't know how long the Holy Spirit is working on an individual's heart. I don't think the Bible says to ever "give up," or "your just wasting your time" For instance; you see someone who is on the point of "no return," you talk to him/her about Jesus Christ and they seem willing but another part of them shows they still aren't ready to "crack" per-se. (Hope that made sense...)

Sometimes I hear the conversation of the wicked, or others blaspheme God and I wonder to myself why God just doesn't drop them dead, and then I imagine the really horrific things that are going on, especially with the RCC with all the abuses and all. The Bible teaches that our God is longsuffering (Exo. 34:6; Num. 14:18; Psa. 86:15). The Bible also tells us to be patient toward all men (Rom. 12:12; I Ths. 5:14; I Tim. 3:3, II Tim. 2:24). I guess in all this, has anyone really give up praying for loved ones or friends? Has any brethren found that it is hard to be patient with people you care about? How do we not know that God's Spirit isn't working on them yet?

I hope this makes the least amount of sense on what I'm trying to say, it might be all over the place lol, I'm not so good with my words ;). God bless!

It made perfect since. I do not know any believers outside of this forum. Not one family member, co-worker, etc...

It is hard to keep going at times. I read the Bible every day, pray almost all the time, and that helps me get through it. Plus I remember my state before I got saved.

I also listen to mp3 files and watch brother Bryan. That's how I get threw it.

I think The Lord is delaying his return, to gather up as many as possible. It is His grace and mercy.

Keep the faith, you are not alone. Remember when he calls us, we will be with our real family. I for one can't wait.

Yep, that's what I forgot to mention, I remember my state as well when I was lost. It took me so many years to reach that point of me needing a Saviour. It's hard, to see loved ones on there way to hell fire, but like you said, look at how we were before salvation. I for one was a blasphemer, a mocker and all of the above.. I guess I just need to work more on my patience and stop throwing in the towel so quickly. Blessings to you and yours brother Mitch!

Col_4:5  Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time  is what came to my mind. I do pray for my lost family. I hope they get saved before it is too late. But if they blatantly deny  Jesus Christ and what he has done on the cross to save sinners, I would take it as a "sign" and stop praying for them.

Amen sister Eda. I had to update my comment, I think it's somewhat clear on when to stop praying for a loved one and when to keep praying for a loved one. In the end, only God knows their heart, He knows when and if someone is ready or "willing" and those evil hearts that are just to harden. Patience is definitely something I need to work on with people in general.
