Listened to this and another hymn on the way home from work last night and I was listening to a teaching that night and they were both mentioned back to back. Thought it was pretty interesting. Also, brother roloff has a nice voice
Ephesians 5:8 “For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:”
1 Thessalonians 5:5 “Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.”
1"It may not be on the mountain’s height
Or over the stormy sea,
It may not be at the battle’s front
My Lord will have need of me;
But if by a still, small voice He calls
To paths I do not know,
I’ll answer, dear Lord, with my hand in Thine,
I’ll go where You want me to go."
3"There’s surely somewhere a lowly place
In earth’s harvest fields so white,
Where I may labor thru life’s short day
For Jesus the Crucified;
So, trusting my all unto Thy care--
I know Thou lovest me
I’ll do Thy will with a heart sincere,
I’ll be what You want me to be."
The Lord has something for each of us to do brethren, however small or simple the task may seem to us. I sometimes have to remind myself that I need to seek to do what the Lord would have me do - not what I want Him to want me to do.
And this I shall learn.
In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my light, my strength, my song;
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace, When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All, here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone! who took on flesh, Fullness of God in helpless babe!
The gift of love and righteousness Scourned by the ones he came to save:
Till on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on him was laid; Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground his body lay Light of the world by darkness slain: Then bursting forth in glorious day Up from the grave he rose again!
And as he stands in victory, Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me,
For I am his and he is mine - Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
Beautiful hymn but I can't find any recordings of it except for in this sermon, so I put it on youtube for the brethren to hear.
